How do I calculate VAT from an amount that includes VAT?
Divide the total amount by 1.15 to get the amount before VAT. The difference between the two is the VAT. Example: 1,150 riyals including VAT means 1,000 riyals before VAT and 150 riyals of VAT.
Since when has the rate been 15%?
The standard rate became 15% for supplies made from 1 July 2020, according to the guideline issued by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).
